THE STYLE LIST

IN STYLE ...........................

So style sisters lets checkout the most stylish people and places I have been schmoozing ( do people still use that word ????) this week.
Rib Room Bar
Brahim
Firstly let me take you to an old faithful of mine THE RIB ROOM BAR at The Jumeirah Carlton Hotel, Knightsbridge. After its recent refurbishment this bar manages to maintain old school elegance and sophistication. This owes itself to the amazing well turned out staff in their white tuxedos and deeply professional attitude lost on so many new bars springing up all over town.  The most stylish Bartender in town Brahim never takes his eye off the ball and manages to be attentive to every client all at the same time. Remaining in the background yet always there !!! I always get a great welcome here from the Manager Michaela, Brahim and all the staff but actually so does everyone whether you are a regular or it is your first time . Come and see for yourself get Brahim to mix you a cocktail and I thoroughly recommend the Lobster and Crab Burger from the Bar Menu. NOTE : Michelin starred Michael Wignall will be Guest cheffing here  15-17 May 2013 he is resident Chef at Pennyhill Park,Surrey where I am a member I can totally recommend . Not to be missed.

Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley
MARCUS WAREING at The Berkeley just gets better and better. I took a party of four here midweek for their new Spring Menu £50 for three courses including two wines to complement the food as selected by the Sommelier and water and coffee. The experience here is always a culinary journey and I knew it would excite my guests one surprise after another from the cheese choux appetisers to tantalising amuse bouche and hand crafted chocolate to complement an already exciting menu. The staff are unobtrusive and extremely efficient and it rather makes me realise that London really is the most professional dining experience in the world. I know Marcus oversees the kitchen most days. FAULTLESS.
My bag

Now some of you tell me you are not getting enough fashion on this blog anymore. I am spending far too much time eating ,drinking and playing ! So here it is style babies. My fashion shout out, the most impressive 2013 collection so far, untouched by anyone, way out in front, would buy anything from this line, clothes or accessories, enough already............ the one and only MICHAEL KORS ! I love it not fashion simply high style. Love it Love it ! and here is a picture of my new bag. I couldn't choose between the bright pink or more classic navy.

Michael Kors
But don't stop there check out the clothes I love this red coat and there are so many other super stylised pieces. from 2013 collection. Mid range prices make this range achievable for high end stylistas. Even better order it direct from America and take advantage of the weak dollar. Where did you come from Michael Kors you have zoomed to my number one from nowhere, I think your time spent at Celine was time spent very wisely. Very excited about your next collection. Will be heading straight to Michael Kors on Rodeo Drive next week on my flying visit to LA.

OR RUN A MILE..........
The Aviator
THE AVIATOR HOTEL Farnborough Airport home of Lear jets and Billionaires. So you may think that this would spur this restaurant into action. When this Hotel first opened it was among the best for fine cuisine but in the last couple of years has spiralled steadily downwards like a Lear jet out of control ! I had a meal here a couple of months ago which was so atrocious that they invited me back to try again but it was even worse !! The decor is really super stylish on a par with the best but the lacklustre service and even worse food means I will not be coming back soon ,if ever. A chef that thinks cured salmon is a fishcake, amuse bouche is a massive porridge like risotto and a foie gras and chicken liver parfait is all mixed together into a mousse instead of layered is already a concern even before you get to taste the food. If you go, just stay for cocktails then go eat elsewhere !!!

I attended The Opera with Lady Elizabeth as she loves her Opera. We attended CARMEN ,one of the greats (according to Lady Elizabeth) at THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL. This venue was so wrong for Opera, concerts great but for Opera lacks the intensity and depth as the venue is not intimate and too large (according to Lady Elizabeth) As we met the cast beforehand I also realised that Opera Singers tend not to be trained actors and I felt that this came across in the performance.(mmm so did Lady Elizabeth) So Operatunists go get acting lessons. The Royal Albert Hall super stylish but just not for Opera and who are we to argue with Lady Elizabeth.

Now I am not sure I need to tell any true Stylistas this but PRINTED TROUSERS......stay away from them!! They are simply hideous the dark forces in the fashion world are trying to tell you to wear them at all times this summer, they do not even suit Kate Moss so THEY WILL NOT SUIT YOU. You will regret this in 2014 when you look back it is a style crime. NO! NO! NO!

Tune in next feel for another STYLE LIST SPECIAL LA. Where I will be style searching on your behalf

THE STYLE LIST

STYLE SPECIAL- DUBAI

I have just returned from the most stylish place on earth...........Dubai !  I have been coming here for years and it just gets more super stylish with every visit. Those people that say Dubai is tacky and tasteless are most definitely hanging out at all the wrong places. So read on to make your stay as stylish and elegant as possible.

Grosvenor House
I spent so many evenings at THE GROSVENOR HOUSE HOTEL but never in the same bar or restaurant twice !!  I personally feel the number one playspot must go to these two iconic twin towers lit up in blue on the Dubai Marina. I am seriously considering coming here EVERY Friday night to party with some of the most beautiful crowd I have ever seen. It is THAT good.

Buddha Bar
The BUDDHA BAR downstairs at one of the Towers is mind-blowing overseen by a giant Gold Buddha perusing the diners in the restaurant. The place is seriously dark and brooding . There is a bar stretching from one end of the room to the other. Must try some Buddha Bar speciality cocktails. The food was elegant but super sized portions. The menu was Japanese/Indonesian influenced. The restaurant was glass from floor to ceiling enabling you not to miss the dramatic scenery on the waterfront. Do not miss a visit here. A six star night out.

BAR 44 on the 44th (surprisingly) floor is a champagne and cocktail bar with fantastic views. Very classy, dress to impress. there was Pianist and a fantastic lady singer both wearing Black tie dress. I felt like I was part of a film set. Come here for those quieter romantic nights.
Siddharta Lounge
SIDHARTA LOUNGE still on the Dubai Marina all white bar and Lounge with a swimming Pool. This Lounge is part inside part outside. If you want to dance has a DJ from 9pm. Seriously tasteful.

101 Bar
If Belinda Carlisle was right and Heaven really is a 'place on earth' then here it is at BAR 101 at The ONE & Only Resort on The Palm. Do not make the same mistake as us and try to drive to it as you have to drive up the trunk of the Palm to the furthest branch almost ending up where you started. We then discovered that a ferry runs regularly from its sister Hotel The Royal Mirage at The Marina which is literally a hop away (6mins) across the water. The Ferry takes you right into the bar and it is free transport.Mediterranean cuisine but if you don't want to eat come just for cocktails its super cool here. St Tropez meets Ibiza ! Apparently very busy on a Thursday and friday night although we went on a quiet night it was beautifully serene soaking up the atmosphere in the middle of the Ocean. Completely surreal. If you get a chance take a buggy and go look at The Hotel. Has to be seen to be believed !
Jebel Ali
If you want to bring children I can recommend the JEBEL ALI RESORT a 30 minute drive from the main centre and in the middle of nowhere a real get away from it all resort. But a massive resort in its own right with its own Marina a plethora of restaurants. A"supercool" kids club. A number of recreational activities. All on its own beach . With all inclusive options and kids eat free. We spied Kerry Katona on our day visit here.

For shopping all the malls out here are super sized expensive and designer. The Mall of the Emirates has a Harvey Nichols. They open late but a good idea to save your skin early on in your holiday and come here to get out of the midday sun. Even the Metro is super stylish and clean. Very simple to use one line running the whole length of Dubai. I don't normally find such stylish Metros which is why I don't generally use them in New York,Paris or London. So you know if I used it ,it must be simple and it truly was a designer Metro' oh yes and it is overground not underground another major difference. Don't be afraid style bunnies completely safe.(although driverless !!!!)

So there it is Stylistas get yourself a ticket to the worlds most stylish playground I hope you like some of my favourite places in Dubai of course it can all change so quickly over there. So DON"T DELAY check out today. Get yourself a big injection of style serum although beware London feels a little shabby after this one.

HAVE FUN  XXXXX
